The Brand Edit: Lumie Cosmetics

Getting those little hand written packages through my door, knowing it's a Lumie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick is always an exciting time. A new, fun, vegan and cruelty free and great quality brand is enough to get any beauty-junkie on the edge of their seat. And boy, does this brand deliver.

I came across this brand after seeing someone with the most gorgeous nude/brown liquid lipstick and being the obsessive I am, I had to know where I could get my hands on it. When you look at their instagram page it's adorned with beautiful girls wearing their products and you get the most amazing sense of girl power and pride just looking at it. 

The whole ethos of this cruelty-free British brand is one of female empowerment and great pride in their customers and product and it's so refreshing to see a brand interact with their consumers as if they were more like friends. Impressive straight off the bat.

Then comes the product... 5 gorgeous shades of matte liquid lipstick in Brownie, Cookie, Cupcake, Maple and Pecan. Shades suited for all skin types and every kind of look possible. There's something for everyone. 

The formulation of these liquid lipsticks is more than impressive. They reminded me of a cross between the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks and the Huda Beauty Liquid Lipsticks but with better staying power, easier application and a less patchy, more comfortable formula. And for £9 each (excluding delivery) they are incredible value for money and could beat any of the well know brand liquid lipsticks i've tried hands down (not to mention the sleek packaging is just gorgeous).

The shades that I own are Pecan and Maple.

Pecan is the standard browny/nude with just the right amount of dusty pink in it that is flattering on literally anyone and it's been my go to lip for my everyday looks for a while now and I can be assured I can go about my day eating and drinking without touching up. I also got a lot of compliments on it which is a good sign. This is a good buy for those who want to copy that instagram-kylie jenner-full lip colour and would recommend it to anyone.

Maple is personally for me, the most stunning shade in the collection. It's a brick red with a hint of brown undertones that make it perfect for this time of year. Think Mac's Chilli without the orange. Again this glides on effortlessly with even coverage and great staying power. It contrasts my pale skin brilliantly and I can imagine it complimenting a wide range of darker skin tones. It would also make a beautiful evening colour outside of the colder months and would recommend this to those who want to wear red but fear the hollywood vibrancy of most reds on the market. 

In conclusion, to say i'm impressed with these liquid lipsticks and Lumie Cosmetics as a brand would be a massive understatement. From the price to the delivery to the ethos to customer service and the product itself this brand has shown how smaller companies are recalling making their mark on the beauty industry and can do so excellently whilst also being affordable to the masses and I wish them all the luck in the world.

I can't wait to see what the brand does next and what excellent products they give us and for now i'm just going to eye up the other shades in the collection... Cupcake... i'm looking at you.
